George came to Canada from Germany in 1957 with a love of plants. He planted his first strawberries in 1959, a tradition we continue to honour. He met Claudia in Canada and they married in 1966. Together they formed the Richmond Nursery from nothing but a dream and lots of passion.

George always spent his life doing what he loved to do. He loved growing flowers for his work and he loved fishing and hunting in the outdoors. He loved his life and lived it to the fullest.

George will be dearly missed by all those people whose lives he touched. His spirit will live on in the hundreds, thousands, millions of plants he so dearly loved putting in the ground. Please, take a little extra time in your garden next year and make it even more beautiful in memory of my dear father, George.
