Corn Crops at Richmond Nursery

During our peak sweet corn time, we hand picked over 2000 dozen of sweet corn per day. However, times have changed we no longer grow our own sweet corn.

The corn we currently grow is ornamental corn - either Indian Corn for it's colour, occasional cobs of popcorn for colour, and regular feed or cow-corn for use in fall decorating. The feed corn also doubles as animal feed for a small hobby farm of George and Claudia.

Although we no longer grow our own sweet corn, we urge everybody to buy corn from local farmers markets or their stands only. After growing up with fresh sweet corn, I could never eat a cob of corn that has not been picked that morning.
